WELCOME TO SKIPWITH PTA!!
The PTA exists to encourage parent, teacher and community involvement in our public school and to improve Skipwith by funding and supporting programs that encourage learning and involvement. The PTA plans the Fall Carnival, our very popular International Night, Music and Art Appreciation Night, and Parenting Workshops, as well as many other events and Spirit Nights to bring students, teachers and parents together outside of school hours. The PTA also purchases agenda books and STARS books for the students, funds live performances at the school, awards $2,000 in college scholarships to former Skipwith students and supports the school in many other ways.
We hope you'll consider joining our PTA if you are not already a member. We would also love to have you volunteer to help in any way you can.
We have an exciting year planned and are looking forward to seeing you at one of our next events! Thank you for your support!
~Kristen Vithoulkas, Skipwith PTA President

Lay Advisory Committee
In April 1956, members of the Henrico County School Board created a Lay Advisory Committee (LAC) to facilitate communication between the school board and the lay people of Henrico County. This advisory committee offers two-way communication between parents and Henrico County's school board representatives. LAC focuses on a broad range of issues at the local, district, and county level which affect the educational well-being of students.
Skipwith is committed to establishing a more active Lay Advisory Committee. Stacy Wilson is serving as the Skipwith Committee Chair representative to the Henrico County School Board this year. This year's initiatives will include regular information updates on issues brought before the school board at monthly meetings of the board and monthly meetings of LAC, communicating dates, times, and agendas of meetings open to the public, and providing a direct line of communication to ask questions, learn about LAC, voice concerns, or participate in the educational decision making process, for all parents at Skipwith with our LAC Advisor. Stacy will be available through email at SkipwithLayAdvisor@yahoo.com, and also on Just Between Friends (JBF). Join the Lay Advisory group for monthly announcements, calendar updates, and links to important County and School Board information.
